Sacred Stone Village was created to move forward with the vision of creating a ecovillage where people can come and learn to live with the earth again. This vision started from June 2016 at the Sacred Stone Camp. As I watched people from the Standing Rock and our allies sitting around the fire, roasting deer meat on the grill, and telling stories of life along the river before the dams, the children running and playing and everyone listening to the stories. I felt at that time this is how we should be living with the earth. The ideal of developing a place where we could tell stories to the youth, to live on the earth as i did as a child. The village would teach how to build wind energy, solar power, and other eco friendly methods. Building using material that are from nature, like our hay bail school. Most of all the village will be a place to teach history, culture, language and our way of life to the young people. How do we change the world? We change ourselves and learn to live with the earth again. We continue to move forward by understanding one simple concept; Water is Life.
